TFU Sale!

Because I’m something of a man-child and Transformers toys are one of my many, many interests, you should know then, that TFU toys are now on SALE!  Here’s a mini-review of the TF I bought on sale.  (I haven’t bought a toy since last year!)

(Transformers Universe, being the continuation of the awesome Classics line, sometimes called Classics 2.0)

Ultra Class TFU are now going for 1,000 Php.  (Previously 2,500 Php!)  Remember the Markdown Madness sale?  The one where I didn’t get to buy anything for my freakishly-sized body? I did what any boy would do: I bought Onslaught.

I always like the bigger, bulkier toys — especially ones you could get for a bargain — the only thing I don’t like about Onslaught would be his lack of a waist — kinda makes every pose you make look like everyone else’s.  :p  Also, this being among the first few Ultra Class toys available, he features lights/sounds!  I could spend hours pressing the button for that siren sound — while singing Mrs. Officer.  LOL

TFU Onslaught – 4/5

Deluxe Class figures are now going for 400 Php!  (Previously 700 Php — good luck looking for a Ratchet or Sideswipe or a Hound on sale though.)

After running into Mikko last Tuesday, we did something we haven’t done in year(s): TOY RUN!

I got Galvatron (of whom I won’t buy for anything less than a sale :p), Cyclonus and Silverstreak.

I didn’t expect to be amazed at Cyclonus — but with his slick transformation, awesome appearance and the inclusion of Nightstick?  Awesome!  He may well turn out to be my favorite TFU toy!

TFU Cyclonus – 5/5

Another character from the Animated Movie, Galvatron is, of course, Megatron, after getting some Unicron-powered modding.  (I think Unicron likes ube a bit too much.)  While his robot mode looks decent enough, getting there is just a pain.  When he’s in vehicle mode, (on mine) the parts don’t even snap well enough, because his left arm keeps getting in the way inside.  Also, his cannon-arm is in perpetual hands-open mode: you wouldn’t know if he’s offering you a handshake, or if he’s going to blow you up.

Silverstreak is a redeco of Prowl, from the same line.  If you already like that toy, you’d like him.  What doesn’t sell it for me though, is the redness of the arms/legs — they look too plastic-y to me.  Definitely an improvement over Prowl’s … whiteness though.

TFU Silverstreak – 4/5

Since I haven’t been keeping up with the toys over the last year, I’ve no idea which one to get next.  (Or, if I should pick up anything new, with the new movie just on the horizon.  I might save up my money for something else.)
