Here’s this week’s playlist!
Again, suggestions to new things to listen to are most welcome. Discovery through others, yeh!
Matt & Kim – Daylight
From Frannie — a “thank you” gift for not panicking too much inside a stuck elevator. (and this isn’t my first elevator incident, innit?) Also, this helps when you’re trying to think of sunshine-y thoughts, given what just happened the last week.
Friendly Fires - Kiss of Life
Because some days, I just want to dance silly to native drums. In the desert. Not to be confused with the Sade song of the same name.
Alphabeat – Fantastic 6
I was rediscovering Alphabeat the other day — they probably belong to a genre called “Crack Pop” — pop so addicting, you’d be inhuman to not flash a silly grin with any one of their songs. eins zwei drei – weltpolizei 24/7
From Frannie: Matt and Kim’s “Daylight” THINK SUNSHINE-Y THOUGHTS!
Yay! Finally found time to make one of these — and only because I’ve been listening to some great songs (on repeat) this week.
Bombay Bicycle Club – Dust on the Ground
From the lyrics + video, I could only determine the meaning of the song to be the ugly things that are teeming beneath the surface of seemingly-pretty things. Like how “perfect” people have dirt to hide, etc.
Owl City – Fireflies
Because Owl City is the shizniz. Also, earcandy and trippy lyrics make it a WIN.
Up Dharma Down is just fantastic. The vid’s just … out there (read the description) — but it works! Also, Kuya Bodjie, yeh.
Here’s a pulp cover (gasp!) that I failed to include in last week’s Sleepy UFO. I’m sleepy, and in need of contemplation. Later, kids!

I am a desk jockey during weekdays, freelance hedonist after hours.
