Announced earlier, the Lytro camera is the first light field camera available to everyone. Every shot captures the entire light field information of a scene, which essentially means you can change the focus at a later time. This also means improved performance when it comes to low light situations.
Think of the applications: it will save you time on focusing and it can free your creativity when it comes to making a photo look exactly like how you imagined it.
The other surprising thing about it is its looks. It comes in a cube-ish tube, and the part I like about the colors is: the blue one is named “Electric Blue.”
How this will affect drunk-picture taking or how this will affect future attitudes when it comes to composition, we’ll only see soon enough. The cameras are priced $399 for the 8GB model and $499 for 16GB.
