movies i’ll be watching on saturday.
With a healthy torrent of “February” and “Valentine’s Day”-themed content popping up everywhere, here I am jumping on the bandwagon. (Because apparently I like bandwagons) Also, from here on, Valentine’s Day shall be referred to as “Saturday.”
For 2009, the 14th has been horribly placed on a Saturday — add the fact that some people are going to get their salaries the Friday before? Smells like packed places and heavy traffic’s a-brewin’.
That’s what DVD (and BluRay) players are for! I’m preparing a movie playlist for Saturday. (Not that I’m the foremost authority on “Movies-to-watch-on-a-Saturday,” but if you’re on a DVD movie date, you might want to check these out.)

Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist – Starting off light, (and to show that I do, have a heart) — I’ll be watching Nick and Norah again — even if the movie makes me feel old(er).

Shallow Hal – Even though it’s showing on Star Movies, it’s still worth the watch. Do you like the person you’re with because of her looks, or because, in her own way, she’s a knock-out in your eyes? Also, Tony Robbins.

True Romance – Less than a year after Pulp Fiction, Tarantino gets writing credit for what is, in my opinion, Chris Slater’s best role yet — twisted comicbook geek on a drug run, well, after killing his now-girlfriend’s former pimp, stealing his stash and setting off for LA to do it. (Did I mention his guardian angel, implied-imaginary-Elvis?)

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - A naked break-up, a puppet Dracula musical, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis and Judd Apatow — with a special, just-before-the-credits-roll-on cameo by Jason Bateman. Plus, it’s funny and relatable.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind – Because there’s no better reason to see a favorite movie other than to see it again. Plus, I like my stories told in syuzhet. (Am I using it right?)
